MMM magazine  |  January 2012
This first issue of 2012 is dedicated to helping readers get the most from their motorhoming budget. Our travel consultants, all of whom are enthusiastic motorhomers, take to the road to explore the UK and beyond – only this month we keep their wallets and purses in the office and tell them to see what enticing things they can do for the least amount of money. One correspondent takes the family to the seaside in Suffolk for a fraction of the usual price, while another reveals how to enjoy Cornwall for just £6 a night. Another embarks on a tour of free public art, while another gets free motorhome stays by ‘urban boondocking’ in the States. This month’s sites section also features motorhome sites running special offers from under £7 a night. Our industry experts have also been on the hunt for motorhome bargains and have found on monster RV with £20,000 off the asking price as well as a pre-owned camper for just £6k! They also hunt out perfect used family motorhomes for under £20k. And if that is not enough, this issue has practical cost-saving DIY advice on areas such as re-upholstering your motorhome and how to ‘spend to save’. Of course, as with every issue of MMM, our road testers have been very busy. This time they get the magnifying glass out to inspect the latest budget coachbuilt from Auto-Trail and get three campers that have new conversions but on used vans, meaning they can bought from just £16,000 – not bad for a new conversion! Finally, our road test editor takes to the road in the new compact four-berth from Auto-Sleepers. And, just to prove that you can save by spending, we have £1,779 worth of prizes up for grabs.
