FESTIVE FUN
After receiving Christmas gifts from my wife in 2021, from a well-known card kit company, I gave some thought as to how I could make the ‘N’ gauge castle kits into the centre attraction of a diorama. After looking at old editions of Model Rail for ideas, I had a eureka moment.
In issue MR290 (Summer 2021) I saw the excellent table-top micro layout by Graham
Goodchild, and decided to plan and make my own version, with the Metcalfe Models castle as the central focus. Scenic items include a church and cemetery, small lake, castle and grounds which include three variations of levels within the walls. There’s also a small village, complete with a market in the square, a children’s playground, plus a small station and signal box.
