THREE-WHEELED MEAN MACHINE
00 GAUGE
A notable recent release from Oxford Diecast is the three-wheel ‘Invacar’. First developed in the late 1940s, these motorised invalid carriages were owned by the Government and distributed to eligible disabled users for free. Such a common sight on Britain’s roads into the 1990s, they were also a regular fixture beside the pitch at various football grounds, Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge being just one famous example. Oxford Diecast’s model depicts a typical 1970s-era version, in the ubiquitous ‘Ministry’ blue with inward sloping rear window.
