My
Cornish harbour project, based on the River Fowey, needed at least one boat for the nautical side of the layout. I really would have preferred a china clay ‐carrying vessel but, sadly, the dimensions of my baseboard (approximately 6ft by 18in) precluded this.
Instead, I opted to model one of the Fowey Pilot boats, which are essential for guiding the sea-going cargo ships in and out of the harbour, up the river estuary.
