I recently travelled to the beautiful county of Wiltshire to join my Revolution co-director Mike Hale and friends Tom Harwin and Guy Molyneux in operating their ‘EM’ gauge layout ‘Oldshaw’ at the Calne model railway exhibition.
‘Oldshaw’ was built by Andrew Bartlett to depict a Western Region branch line in the 1970s. It includes a quiet country station, a small adjacent factory and a pair of sidings. At one end was a single traverser so, although modelled as a through route, the station operated as a terminus.
