What is it?
Designed by Holden in 1891, 100 were built between 1891 and 1902. As its nickname ‘Intermediate’ suggests, this was a mixed traffic tender locomotive. In the early years, the ‘T26s’ could be found pulling main line passenger services, as well as freight, all over the GER system, a handsome sight in the rich, ultramarine GER locomotive livery and well liked by their crews.
