Welcome
Model buildings are a vital element of any model railway, helping to set a railway into an overall scene. Architectural styles and building materials also help place a structure into a geographical area and period.
When I started out, ‘OO’ gauge model buildings came predominantly in kit form, often using card as the main material. Hornby, Ratio, Airfix and a handful of others offered plastic kits, usually of smaller rail-themed subjects such as signal boxes, lineside huts and modest station buildings.
