HOW TO MAKE A PLOUGHED FIELD

Like many others, I thoroughly enjoyed the Clarkson’s Farm series on Amazon which was released a couple of months ago. It also showed just how difficult farming can be. All of the conditions have to be just right before anything can be done, particularly ploughing. Yet a ploughed field is a classic sight and one way of reproducing it is to use corrugated cardboard and cover it with scatter material. Alternatively, Auhagen and Busch now market fields with both ploughed and seeded effect, so I thought I’d give one a go.
To make this ploughed field I experimented with a Busch Ploughed Field piece that measures 48 by 28cm and has been made to look recently ploughed. On the packaging there is a large letter N which I assume means ‘N’ gauge, but it seemed suitable for ‘OO’ gauge, too.
