HARD-WORKING crafters raised £730 for Mary’s Meals at their first coffee morning in Connel.
The Easter craft and coffee morning at Connel Village Hall on Saturday April 8, which also featured baking and fiddle music, raised money by donation for the Argyll charity which aims to provide hungry children with one meal every school day, encouraging education that can lift them out of poverty in later life.
The group was helped by many volunteers to organise the event. One crafter Dorothy Hitchin said: ‘We have been doing it for quite a few years. We make anything that takes our fancy. We take a stall to local craft fairs, but this was the first time we have had a coffee morning.
