Trust seeks ideas for how to win land buyout backing

A TRUST embarking on the biggest community land buyout on record is looking for innovative and traditional suggestions on how best to get public support.

More than 500 people have become members of East Lochaber and Laggan Community Trust (ELLCT), which hopes to buy the estate currently owned by Rio Tinto.

Measuring around 120,000 acres, the trust believes, if successful, the buyout would provide numerous opportunities for individuals and businesses with the goal of creating a better future for the younger generation.
