While Apple was the clear winner, it was equally clear that our readers weren’t voting simply because of the company’s slick marketing. “I’m not an Apple fanboy but have gradually accepted the expensive choice on the grounds that it’s all really good kit,” wrote Harry Parsonage on Facebook, for example. “I’ve had Android phones but have been with iPhones for a long time now and wouldn’t change. I’m typing on a 12.9in iPad Pro that’s five years old and still brilliant.”
