Microsoft tests self-healing Windows
And it’s going to let you ditch default apps, too
Microsoft has begun testing a new Windows recovery feature that will hopefully prevent a repeat of debilitating events such as the CrowdStrike outage.
Quick machine recovery was announced last year, in response to the CrowdStrike failure that left millions of machines worldwide unable to boot without manual recovery. It’s now being tested in the Canary channel for Windows Insiders, suggesting it could be part of this autumn’s 25H2 update.
