MYTHS OF THE NEAR FUTURE (RINSE, 2007)
Formed in 2005, Klaxons burst onto the UK music scene in a flurry of glow sticks, airhorns, eye-watering fluorescent fashions and bass-driven high-energy sounds. Flagbearers for what quickly became known as ‘new rave’, casual observers might have assumed that Klaxons and their similarly attired contemporaries were just faux naïve revivalists of the smiley face dance phenomenon of the late 80s and early 90s. Yet what was actually happening was a lot more interesting than that.
