SINGER-SONGWRITERS LAURA J Martin and Lavinia Blackwall first bonded at 2017’s Moseley Folk Festival, but it wasn’t until lockdown that they finally hatched a plan. Martin had just added flute parts to Muggington Lane End, Blackwall’s first solo album since quitting acclaimed prog-folk types Trembling Bells. “Laura got back in touch, told me she’d been working on a Robert Wyatt track and asked if I fancied collaborating on it,” recalls Blackwall. “It worked really well, so we decided to do some more. Then it grew arms and legs into an album.”
