Caligula’s Horse are one of Australia’s premier modern progressive metal acts so seeing them in concert is inherently awesome. That said, tonight’s show is particularly special for two reasons: it finds them celebrating their superb new studio album –Charcoal Grace –and, perhaps more importantly, it’s a part of their first-ever North American headlining tour. Luckily, the quartet make the most of the opportunity. Bolstered by charming banter, engaging visuals, and a stellar opening set from instrumental prog rock ensemble Earthside, Caligula’s Horse’s remarkable performance demonstrates why they’ve always deserved the spotlight.
