The aptly-named Reveries finds this American instrumental trio building on their 2020 release Liberamente with another collection of atmospheric, minimalist mood pieces that flow with a vastness that repositions the mind somewhere off the shoulder of Orion. There’s the occasional shaft of melody, but the focus is on airy washes of sound, with synths and strings, merging together to form a whole, with no element distinct or discernible, no recognisable vocals and certainly no soloing.
