MY PROG
ALISTAIR MURPHY (THE CURATOR)
The great and good of progressive music give us a glimpse into their prog worlds. As told to Grant Moon.
Where’s home?
Norfolk.
What’s your earliest prog memory?
Walking home from junior school in 1968, and my older brother Royse shouting from his friend’s bedroom window for me to come and listen to something. He had just bought In Search Of The Lost Chord by The Moody Blues, an album that I still love to this day.
What was the
first prog album you bought?
Soft Machine’s
Six.
I’m a fan of all their numbered
albums –both before and after
Robert Wyatt’s departure.
