Ed’s Letter
Hello and welcome to the latest issue of Prog. With Pink Floyd dormant, we should count ourselves lucky that the surviving members are all still musically active. David Gilmour may move at a slightly slower pace than his old bandmates, but a new solo album from him is always a cause for celebration: that evocative tone, those emotive solos, that distinct voice. So, nine years after Rattle That Lock we have Luck And Strange, and all those components that make up a great album are still in place. He tells us all about his upcoming release, and that he’s already planning a follow-up, plus we asked 30 of his peers, collaborators, fellow musicians and fans in the prog world to pick their favourite David Gilmour performance. The list makes for fascinating reading. Our Gilmour coverage starts on p28.
