Much like the bowelbothering horror film they share their name with, Canadian thrashers Terrifier aren’t afraid to wear their 80s influences on their sleeves. They also seem hellbent on trying to remove your head from your shoulders. Their weapon of choice is the guitar, and over the course of eight tracks they take us on a fast and furious trip down memory lane. Their second album sees them trimmed down to a trio, but they’ve lost none of their power or precision – Bones Of The Slain and Grinding The Blade are packed with lightning-quick fretboard wizardry. While it won’t win any awards for innovation, Trample The Weak… is an enjoyable romp loaded with killer cuts. ■■■■■■■■□□
