Liberty on track despite Nissan move
Liberty Industries Group chief executive Dr Douglas Dawson has given assurances this week that despite the UK car industry being rocked by Japanese car giant Nissan scrapping its plans to build its new X-Trail vehicle in Sunderland, the Fort William plant plans will still go ahead.
The assurance is welcome, although in reality the company must have some fears about what the next few weeks holds. Dr Dawson was in Fort William as ground engineers moved onto the site earmarked for the new alloy wheels factory.
