Oban Lorne’s 1st XV are looking ahead to the tail end of their West Division 2 campaign with the team sitting second in the table.
After a confident start to the season the side, coached by Andrew Johnston, stuttered a little mid-season with losses to Wigtownshire, Strathaven and league leader Lenzie but have rallied in recent weeks with three consecutive bonus point wins lifting the side back up to second in the table. Notably a 45-7 win over third placed Uddingston a few weeks ago raised eyebrows around the league proving that, with a strong side, the men in green can be genuine promotion candidates.
