YOUTH AND MINI RUGBY
Last Sunday’s busy day of youth and mini rugby hosted by Oban Lorne was called off on Friday afternoon due to the wintry weather conditions that iced over both rugby pitches at Glencruitten. An early decision was made between the club and Argyll and Bute Council’s ground staff to give visiting teams plenty of notice for notifying players and coaches. With Islay’s girls’ teams travelling it was important they were given sufficient time to cancel ferry and minibus bookings.
Sunday was due to be the launch of 2019’s series of Dalriada Festivals which have had a successful first half of the season. Etive Vikings RFC lead both the P4/5 and P6/7 age groups going into the second half of the season with Mid Argyll, Oban Lorne, Kintyre, Lochaber and Isle of Mull all hosting festivals from August to November along with the Vikings.
