Interview with Mario Fabbri

We step behind the scenes with cookery show host, Mario Fabbri, to talk cooking, veganism and the small steps that can ‘change the world’

“ This is about HELPING a TON of People make small steps “

Host of vegan cookery show, Mario Fabbri, is a passionate plant-based influencer, and is still undergoing the transition to veganism himself. His refreshingly honest, ‘take no prisoners’ approach to presenting makes his show ‘Trying Vegan With Mario’ a witty, highly entertaining and informative take on vegan cooking.

Mario invites professional chefs, from all around the world into his kitchen, to teach him and his viewers about the amazing benefits and innumerable possibilities of plant-based cooking.

When did you transition to a plant-based diet, and why?

The reason I became interested in plant-based food was because one of my best friends lost nearly 100 pounds and got into the best shape of his life by eating plant-based. This was a lightbulb moment when I thought, ‘maybe what the Standard American Diet is recommending isn’t the best way to eat.’ For the past three years I’ve been eating primarily plant-based food and experimenting with foods to help me feel at my best.

What’s the aim of your show ‘Trying Vegan with Mario’?

The mission of my show is to help people eat more plant-based meals. I understand how hard it can be to change the way you eat. My dad owns an Italian sausage factory and I grew up cooking lasagna and Italian beef with my grandmother, so I know how difficult it can be to get rid of your addiction to meat and cheese. What sets my show apart is that I’m currently going through the transition into veganism myself; it’s hard and I will be the first to be honest with my audience and tell them if a vegan sausage actually tastes good or if it honestly tastes like crap.
