SEAQUEST
1983 n If you pictureDefenderwith a fixed screen instead of scrolling, and some tweaks to its mechanics, then you get a decent idea about howSeaquestplays. Instead of a spaceship you pilot a submarine, rather than rescuing colonists you pick-up divers looking for gold and in place of aliens you find yourself being attacked by enemy subs and sharks. Thankfully, these opponents leave the divers alone, it’s only your craft that gets fired upon and assaulted by hostile marine life, although you can combat these threats with a never-ending supply of torpedoes. Unfortunately,Seaquestpresents you with a number of other unpleasant conditions of play. You have limited oxygen onboard your vessel, and once it runs low you have to surface to replenish it. If you happen to have rescued six divers at this point then you move onto the next level, but if not then you lose one diver. Worse still, if you’re foolish enough to surface with no divers your craft explodes!
