FROM THE CEO
Welcome
Euan Sutherland
Hello everyone. When Sidney De Haan set up Saga 71 years ago, he probably never dreamed that the over-50s he was so dedicated to serving would one day outnumber the more ‘standard’ adult population of 25 to 49-year-olds. But as the latest Census results revealed to us recently: that day is here.
There are now 22,671,500 people over 50 in England and Wales, compared to 19,576,600 25 to 49-year-olds. The number of over-65s is the largest it’s ever been at 11 million – almost one in five of the population.
