With the successful DC videogame Injustice having already spawned a surprisingly popular comic spin-off, it was only a matter of time before DC Animation got in on the action with its own feature-length adaptation. How much enjoyment you get out of the resulting 80-minute actionfest will depend on whether you think the central “Superman as a homicidal tyrant” concept is cool or boring, but this also isn’t quite the Zack Snyder-esque carnival of grimdark that it could have been.
