The Matrix spawned several kung fu-infused sci-fi actioners, but when not even the Wachowskis’ own sequels could recapture the magic, what chance did everyone else have? While this Jet Li vehicle – written by X-Files and Final Destination vets Glen Morgan and James Wong – has a decent stab at replicating the slo-mo stunts, balletic wirework and intricately choreographed fights, in every other regard it’s a poor imitation.
