➔ WHEN FUTURE SPIDEY Miguel O’Hara debuted in 1992, his cyberpunky milieu was more than a century in the future. Now as the Wall- Crawler of Tomorrow returns three decades later in Spider-Man 2099: Exodus, his far-flung era isn’t quite so far away.
“The 2099 line felt like the comics of the future at the time!” says writer Steve Orlando, who is teamed with artists Paul Fry, Dave Wachter, Marco Castiello, Ze Carlos, Alessandro Miracolo and Kim Jacinto. “So now, as we get nearer to that future every year, there’s a huge incentive for me to not just celebrate this line but to also imbue it with new life and set it up for success for years.”
