A 4mm (US G/6) hook

1 yellow cat safety eyes, 12mm

4 black safety eyes, 12mm

3 round head paper brads/ fasteners, 4mm

2m silver string

Sizes are approximate Cat measures 10x12cm (4x5in) Shih Tzu measures 12x12cm (5x5in) Poodle measures 12x14cm (4x5.5in)

ABBREVIATIONS

lark’s head knot Fold 2 strands of yarn in half, insert hook around post of st from direction you want the fur to lie, place folded ends on hook and pull through, pull tails through folded ends, and pull tight to secure For a full list, see page 86

Celebrate your favourite furry friends this festive season with three adorable baubles! Make a Shih Tzu, a poodle and a calico cat.

NOTES

All parts are made separately and sewn together. The fur is added by joining small lengths of yarn to the pieces, then brushing them to separate the strands. Do not add the safety eyes and nose until the fur is complete. Parts of this pattern are worked using the amigurumi method. Work stitches continuously in a spiral without closing off each round with a slip stitch. It may help to use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round, moving it up as you work.
