FIRST PLAY MONSTER HUNTER WILDS
PS5, XSX, PC
Capcom’s mammoth series just keeps getting more approachable and appealing, and
Monster Hunter Wilds
feels like a new apex.
Previous instalment Rise had already used RE Engine; but where some features were held back on the less powerful Switch, on PC and current-gen consoles this is a new world of hunters and colossal monsters that feels more alive, and more unpredictable, than ever.
There’s the rich detail of customising your own hunter, which still feels distinct from other RE Engine games such as Street Fighter 6 or Dragon’s Dogma 2, but the most notable difference is in the wild biomes: they’re more expansive than ever, teeming with creatures of all kinds, and even undergoing weather shifts.
