We catch up with co-founder Sara hornton about roleplaying in Hampshire
Interview by James Winspear
GAMESCON
Can you tell us a bit about GamesCon?
Sure! We’re a friendly annual board game and RPG convention based in Emsworth, Hampshire. We have a nice spread of RPGs – Pathinder, Starinder, Dungeons & Dragons, Mothership and more – led by brilliant GMs, as well as board game libraries to borrow games from and play to your heart’s content, and board games shops when you need your next ix of board game goodness to take home.
Board games played at GamesCon last year ranged from Arcadia Quest to Azul to Camel Up to Terraforming Mars, and everything in-between. The people behind GamesCon are my husband JJ and myself. I’m an avid board gamer – favourite games being Pandemic, Scythe, Century: Spice Road, Deep Sea Adventure and Gloomhaven – and we both RPG at least twice a week. Currently our RPG group is in an immersive weekly Savage Worlds East Texas University storyline, and also a brilliant weekly D&D homebrew campaign called Palisade.
