Laurence Baldwin talks to us about the long-running wargaming show
Interview by James Winspear
PARTIZAN
Could you tell us a bit about Partizan?
Partizan is a show for tabletop wargaming and history which has always had a focus on the most inspiring games which give people a bit of a ‘wow factor’. We hope people leave buzzing from the atmosphere, and with some new ideas for their own games at home or in their local club.
It has always been a non-commercial kind of show – all the proits get ploughed back into ensuring the show carries on and supports the hobby.
How did the event first get started?
We started back in 1986! At the time the National Wargames Championship was a big thing and our newly-formed club ofered to run the regional heats. We invited a few traders and exhibition games along to go alongside the competition games, hired the local sports hall and carried on from there.
