Rae Hurley tells us about the home of gaming goodness in the heart of sunny Cheltenham
Interview by James Winspear
PROUD LION
Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I fell into the tabletop gaming world about eight years ago, when a friend sat me down to play a game of Small World. I fell in love with the game and went right down the rabbit hole, wanting to play every board game I could get my hands on!
I realised I had a particular taste for introducing other people to these games, and a knack for teaching them. When I joined the Proud Lion team in 2015, I made it my mission to grow the existing gaming side of the business and bring these fantastic games to as many people as possible. I’ve been doing that ever since, and it’s helped me discover a passion for roleplaying games and collectible games along the way. My only disappointment is that there aren’t enough hours in the day to play everything!
