“Wild Thing” veteran continues his creative streak

IT takes a lot to throw Chip Taylor off course. Grounded by the pandemic, the 80-year-old New Yorker simply settled in and recorded no less than three albums in 2020, enjoying an unexpected popularity spike when his cover of Regina Spektor’s “On The Radio” was featured in Netflix hit Sex Education. A sprawling double opus, Can I Offer You A Song, landed in 2021, cut remotely with longtime guitarist John Platania and co-producer/multi-instrumentalist Goran Grini in Norway. The arrival of The Cradle Of All Living Things, another epic double, comes after Taylor’s recent announcement that he was cancelling dates in Scandinavia because of treatment for throat cancer.
