THOSE OF US WHO ENJOY A GLASS OR TWO OF WINE WITH DINNER live in hope that alcohol guidelines will be increased – and drinking will turn out to be good for our health. But without wishing to dampen this year’s festivities, it’s safe to say the reverse is likely to happen.
The recommended alcohol limits from the Department of Health haven’t changed since 1995 (no more than three to four units a day for men and two to three units for women). Now these are under review – and may well be decreased.
