High-end silicon throws out a lot of heat, which limits passive cooling to the mid-range. But Noctua’s NH-P1 was engineered to cool passively, and it is massive. Its Secufirm2+ Torx-based mounting system hangs its 3.3lb bulk from your board. Noctua says the NH- P1 isn’t suitable for overclocking, and you may have to tweak the CPU boost modes to stop your processor overloading things, but it can cool an i9-11900K running at 3.6GHz with no fan. That’s 125W of heat dissipation. The official price has not been finalized, but it is being listed at $100.
