The Elmet Poetry Prizes, which had to be postponed, as well as the associated Ted Hughes Festival, because of the Boxing Day floods in and around Mytholmroyd, has relaunched with new dates.
The Elmet Trust Poetry Prize 2016 for adults is for poems written in response to Ravens: The City, which can be found in Ted Hughes’ Collected Poems. There is a first prize of £400, a second prize of 100 and a third prize of £50.
The Ted Hughes Young Poets Award 2016 is in three age categories: 6-10, 11-14 and 15-18. In each category there are prizes of £50 and £25. Entries should be poems written in response to Cat;Skinning a Thatcher.
