Genesis X Gran Equator
Futuristic concept shows the upmarket South Korean brand’s ambition to field a Land Rover Defender rival On sale 2028 Price from £70,000 (est)
WHEN THE PRODUCTION version of the Genesis X Gran Equator goes on sale, it’s likely to spend more time in Surrey than the Sahara. But unlike most modern SUVs, it apparently will offer genuine off-road ability, with it being pitched as a rival to the Land Rover Defender and Toyota Land Cruiser.
Bigger than today’s Genesis GV60 SUV, the X Gran Equator also has chunkier looks; its squared-off proportions are dressed with rugged roof rails and cladding around the sills and wheel arches to create a hardy off-roader impression. It sits on massive 24in wheels shod with all-terrain tyres.
