#2 A good warm up
Warming up is essential for all athletes, even if you’re doing a long run, so I always spend the first 2K steadily easing into it. With track sessions, I spend about 20/30mins on dynamic stretches, strides and drills. It’s essential to warm the muscles to reduce injury risk – and also to improve technique.
