GERMANY
BERLIN HALF MARATHON
Gill Bland took to the streets of Berlin to sightsee, drink tea and test its flat profile and awesome crowd support
Iwent out to Berlin with Marathon Tours and Travel. One big benefit was that our guide Steve Hails took us for a run to show us where the bag drop and entrance to the start were. This was helpful because the drop area is just over a mile from the start line and the entrance to the pens a little confusing. When you sign up to the race, you can choose either bag drop or to be given a poncho at the end. The poncho is a nice memento, but if it’s a cold or wet day then that distance means you’ll need some kind of disposable clothing while you wait to begin.
