After life

Psychopomp.com is a new US-based indie press just launched by Sean Markey, publisher of the acclaimed dark fiction magazine The Deadlands. Markey says his plan for the new imprint is to ‘start by publishing a couple of novellas per year, and eventually plan to move to publishing novels.’ The first novellas will be jointly selected with Deadlands’ editor in chief together with E. Catherine Tobler. They are looking for speculative fiction or literary novellas between 20,000 to 40,000 words that fall under one or more of the following themes: Stories where grief or loss play a leading role, that feature the afterlife or underworld or a journey through death, or feature death personified. Stories involving a multiverse or time travel, gothic stories or stories where the characters gradually lose their sense of reality. Gothic space stories, creepy meta-horror and amazingly original ghost stories.
