ZOLA BUDD is joining one of her old roommates in the British athletics team, Liz McColgan, on the start line of the inaugural Stirling Marathon next year.
Budd, who is now known as Zola Pieterse, turned 50 in May and still runs regularly at her home in South Carolina, where she lives with her husband and three children.
She is best known for racing barefoot and getting into a tangle with Mary Decker in the 1984 Olympic 3000m final – a story retold in a Sky Atlantic documentary
