M EMSLEY CARR MILE
THE Emsley Carr Mile was run for the 64th time and it was a fairly modest affair, lacking the distance’s really big names. Asbel Kiprop was a late withdrawal.
Silas Kiplagat, the 2011 world silver medallist, who didn’t make the Kenyan team, won a competitive race from compatriot Vincent Kibet in 3:53.04.
Jake Wightman impressed by being in contention with the Kenyans until the last 50 metres and smashed his PB by three seconds with 3:54.20 in fourth.
