I was brought up in Stourbridge in the West Midlands, in a not remotely theatrical family. Aged five, I was taken to see a pantomime at the Birmingham Hippodrome and that was when I fell in love with theatre.

I suppose my career in theatre began when I was still at school, by doing work experience in the marketing department at Birmingham Rep. From putting up posters to taking actors to interviews and looking after critics, it was the best education I could ever have had.
I still have friends from that time and it’s when theatre became my family.
