HAIL, CAESAR!

The Coen Brothers are back with their star-studded, post-war Hollywood comedy, Hail, Caesar! We follow studio boss Eddie Mannix, as he is left to deal with many a studiocrisis, including the kidnapping of movie star Baird Whitlock (Clooney). Compared to some of the award-winning masterpieces the Coens have put out, this does feel like Coen Brothers-Lite. However, the film is still dripping with authentic character and all the interesting quirks and humour of the 50s. Its supporting cast shines; with Tilda Swinton’s scene-stealing gossip columnist twins, Scarlett Johansson as the cheeky leading lady, and Channing Tatum's homoerotic song and dance. 4TH MARCH
