Aviation Specials  |  Pearl Harbor
Just before 08.00 hours on December 7, 1941, Japanese forces launched a surprise, pre-emptive military strike against the United States’ naval base at Pearl Harbor. The focus of the attack was on eight huge battleships, six of which, at the time of the raid, were moored along what was known as Battleship Row. Four battleships were sunk; 15 other vessels were sunk or damaged. Almost 350 aircraft were also destroyed or damaged.
