HAVE A SCANDI SUMMER
The Mediterranean diet is seen as the pinnacle of healthy eating, but research shows Nordic nutrition may be just as beneficial. The traditional diet of fish, cabbage, rye bread and root vegetables has been studied and the results are clear: it reduces your risk of heart attack. The study tracked more than 57,000 Danish people over 14 years; those eating a Nordic diet were up to 45 per cent less likely to have a heart attack. Sadly, that doesn’t mean tucking in to cinnamon buns and meatballs, but pickled herring, wild berries and oatmeal. Equally delicious, we say.
