First new sleeper trains on track

THE FIRST carriages for a new £100 million fleet of Caledonian Sleeper trains have arrived in Scotland ahead of their introduction to the service later this year.

Starting in October, the overnight rail service – of which Fort William is a main destination – will be transformed with the introduction of 75 new carriages being phased in. Five carriages arrived in Glasgow on Tuesday morning to begin extensive testing.
