It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of another year, but I’ve done all the calculations and can confirm that yes, December is upon us once again.
Looking back over this year, we’ve had to dig deep and continue to draw on a resilience that many of us might not have realised we had 2 years ago. Lockdowns became such a normal part of life that it was hard to imagine life without them. I know I’m not alone in hoping that as we move into a new year, we can continue to put these challenges behind us.
But before we reach the end of the year, we have a festive season to contend with. Last year was disappointing for a lot of people who weren’t able to celebrate with loved ones; I for one am looking forward to spending time with family, and of course, eating loads of food! As ever, our December issue is packed with ideas for your festive feast; pay particular attention to the Bird Roast that kicks off that recipe section – you’ll be able to fool even the most ardent omnivore with it!
I’m also excited to share our Gift Guide with you; whoever you’re buying for, we’ve found some great ideas that will help to inspire you. I’m definitely going to be leaving those pages open around my friends and family this year!
Take a look at our New Year’s recipes as well; if you’re thinking of throwing a party, we’ve got you covered. And check out our Winter Drinks – you’ll be reaching for these recipes on chilly days throughout the whole season. Rounding things off, there’s some delicious dessert inspiration, with everything from Eton mess to mochi, and a selection of rice and grain ideas, both savoury and sweet.

Great magazine for recipes

This is published by the same people as the Vegan Life magazine and has more of a focus on recipes and cookery. It's good if you want lots of recipes, although personally I prefer Vegan Life which has more of a focus on lifestyle. Reviewed 03 June 2017
