Gransnet and Harper Collins imprint HQ have teamed up for a writing competition for unpublished women writers aged over forty, to redress the lack of older women in today’s fiction.
The winner will receive a publishing deal with HQ for a novel featuring a woman aged over forty.
The competition, which responds to a Gransnet survey revealing that more than half of respondents think there are not enough books with middle-aged or older characters, is looking for unpublished novel-length fiction featuring a leading character aged over forty.
